Hey there! Are you ready to boost your productivity and get your body moving? You’re in luck! It’s Day 1 of the Focus & Flex Challenge, and you can still join us.
The Focus and Flex Challenge is a fun, seven-day virtual series in which you’ll mix short bursts of focused work (using the Pomodoro Technique) with daily stretches and mindfulness exercises to keep you energized and stress-free.
We’re all about finding that sweet spot between getting stuff done and taking care of yourself. You’ll get daily tips, join a supportive community, and maybe even find an accountability buddy to keep you on track. Let’s get flexible and focused together!

Here’s How to Make the Most of the Focus & Flex Challenge
- Follow the Pomodoro techniques as you approach your work tasks.
- During your 5-minute break, make sure to stretch. We’ll send you a new stretch to try every day!
- Once you’ve completed four 25-minute Pomodoro sessions, consider our Journal prompt for the day. Use this as your quiet meditation time to set an intention with yourself. Make sure to write down how you’re feeling in your journal. It can be just one word or a simple thank you to yourself for taking such great care of your body and mind. Log in to DesignDash and click “Write Journal” at the top of this article to keep your entries all in one place!
Day 1: Do Your Pomodoro, Seated Stretches, and Creativity Journal Prompt
SELECT A TASK: Choose a task to focus on. It can be any task you like—even big ones you need to break down into several chunks. You can work on the same task in these 25-minute intervals over the entire length of the challenge if that makes sense for you! After the session, take a pause.
SET A TIMER: Set a timer for 25 minutes and dedicate your focus to that task.
TAKE A BREAK: After the session, take a 5-minute break. During this break, work on the stretches outlined below and reflect on our thought prompt for the day.
