Some are bold and brand-new while others are storied and traditional, yet all are lovely and unique. Whether you seek fabric for dining room curtains or the upholstery on an antique armchair, you can’t go wrong with GP & J Baker’s design expertise and inspired collections.

A Bit About GP & J Baker

GP & J Baker, founded in 1884, is a quintessentially British brand with a long history of producing gorgeous fabrics, wallpapers, and trimmings. Created by brothers George Percival and James Baker, the company quickly became known for an exceptional design archive composed of rare and historical patterns from around the world.

With designs by William Turner and others of his ilk, their early embrace of the Arts and Crafts movement set a tone of timeless elegance that continues to influence interiors today; some of those original prints are still produced by the company. To no one’s surprise, GP & J Baker holds a Royal Warrant, underscoring its longstanding reputation for quality and craftsmanship.

Interior designers often turn to GP & J Baker when selecting fabrics and wallcoverings. Ranging from classic prints from the company’s founding to contemporary collaborations with designers like Kit Kemp, its collections provide a diverse and—frankly—unparalleled palette of styles suitable for both heritage and modern interiors. The brand’s commitment to artistry and detail makes it a go-to for designers who value sophistication, character, personality, and a deep sense of design history.

10 Floral GP & J Baker Fabrics We Love for Spring and Summer

#1 Kanchou Print in Multi from the La Menagerie Collection

Designed by Brunschwig & Fils, which is a heritage brand under the GP & J Baker umbrella, Kanchou is a playful, chinoiserie-inspired print from the La Menagerie collection by Nick Mele and Danielle Rollins. This whimsical pattern features a creamy cockatoo nestled among flowering branches, ripe berries, and fluttering butterflies.

All elements are rendered in a subtle yet vibrant palette of coral pinks, citrus yellows, and leafy greens. Printed on 100% Italian cotton with a sanforized finish, the design captures Brunschwig’s flair for reimagining archival influences with a charm that still amuses and delights today.

#2 Arbour in Fuchsia from the Block Party Collection

Designed by GP & J Baker, Arbour is a bold, fantasy floral print from the playful Block Party collection. This line was inspired by the charm and craftsmanship of traditional hand block printing. The largest scale pattern in this collection, Arbour bursts with oversized stylized blooms in punchy fuchsia. These bold florals are surrounded by graphic, leaf-like forms and a background of dainty ivory blossoms set against a grounding grey.

Suited to bedspreads, loose and fixed upholstery, and drapery, this 100% cotton fabric is as versatile as it is beautiful. We love it as a Roman shade fabric in a breakfast nook, but Arbour has endless applications.

#3 Hazelwood Print in Green from the Lee Jofa 200 Collection

Designed by Lee Jofa, which is another arm of the GP & J Baker family, Hazelwood is a lush, large-scale floral that draws from a 1920s English hand block print originally held in the archives of the brand’s founding figures. This design takes cues from traditional Indian palampores, with stylized botanical motifs unfurling across a soft, washed linen ground. The foliage and florals are rendered in layers of green, teal, golden ochre, and soft blue.

Screen printed on 100% linen, Hazelwood is ideal for cushions and other accents. The coordinating wallpaper also makes the print a strong candidate for layered, immersive schemes that celebrate pattern.

#4 Anduze in Apricot and Sage from the Anduze Embroideries Collection

One of our very favorites on this list, Anduze is a delicately embroidered fabric from the richly decorative and same-named collection. This particular design brings a soft, stylized tree-of-life motif to life through finely stitched blossoms, leafy tendrils, and fanciful floral forms in shades of apricot, sage, blush, and teal.

Against a subtle ground of taupe and ivory patterning, the embroidery adds a gentle dimensionality that feels luxurious without overpowering. It almost appears to shimmer like platinum or mother of pearl. Crafted in India using a linen, cotton, and polyester blend, Anduze is perfect for light upholstery, decorative pillows, or roller shades.

#5 Manders in Cloud from the Barry Lantz Canvas to Cloth Collection

Designed by Barry Lantz for Kravet, Manders is a painterly print from the Canvas to Cloth collection. This collection is Lantz’s tribute to his own daughter and design partner, Amanda. Manders’ ethereal pattern mimics the soft diffusion of ink on paper, with overlapping cloud-like floral forms rendered in smoky greys and subtle off-whites.

The effect is tonal and serene. Printed on a breezy linen-blend ground, Manders is perfect for creating calm, contemplative spaces—think flowing drapery in a tranquil bedroom or an upholstered bench in a serene entryway.

#6 Eldora Print in Slate from the Breckenridge Collection

Eldora is a delicately detailed print from the Breckenridge collection, which makes rustic motifs a bit more modern. Among a palette largely focused on subtle, grounded neutrals, Eldora boasts a rhythmic floral repeat in soft, slate-toned blues.

The design features stylized circular blooms and winding leaf forms that remind us of Seurat-style pointilism. Printed on a crisp white ground, Eldora reads as floral without being overtly feminine and decorative without overpowering a space, so it is perfect for a wide variety of interiors.

#7 Maxton in Teal from the Modern Country II Collection

This fabric from Mulberry Home has it all: whimsy, dynamism, and all the delicate artistry of a porcelain teacup. Our EIC’s favorite GP & J Baker fabric on this list, Maxton is a simultaneously lively and structured floral from the Modern Country II collection.

This stylized botanical trail boasts curling vines, fanciful blossoms, and paisley-inflected leaves in a crisp, autumn-meets-spring palette of teal, rust, ochre, and soft blue. The embroidered-like print effect is richly detailed yet neatly spaced.

Woven in India using a durable blend of 75% linen and 25% acrylic, Maxton is furniture-grade and perfect for upholstery, cushions, or even statement headboards. It is charming enough for a countryside sitting room but graphic and punchy enough for a more tailored, urban setting (think a breakfast nook banquette or upholstered bench in your client’s dressing room).

#8 Poppies in Indigo from the Perandor Collection

Part of the Perandor collection by GP & J Baker, Poppies in Indigo is a bold, block-print-style floral with an antique aesthetic that is—somehow—equally at home in contemporary interiors. The pattern features large-scale blossoms and leafy branches rendered in a saturated inky blue that is offset by a natural linen-hued ground. The soft tonal variations throughout make it feel truly hand-printed.

#9 Sudbury Fabric in Red

Sudbury is an ornate, large-scale embroidery inspired by the Persian carpets and textiles found at Sudbury Hall. It is a nod to the Eastern influences that once adorned grand English estates.

The design features curling vines, delicate blossoms, and elaborately stylized chrysanthemums in tones of red, rose, and sage green. Perfect for drapery, headboards, or decorative pillows, Sudbury is refined but not stuffy.

While rooted in tradition, its bold scale and exotic detailing allow it to sit beautifully within layered interiors that mix old and new.

#10 Little Magnolia in Pink/Orange

No fabric on this list feels more like Spring than Little Magnolia. Busy but not overly so, this richly detailed print boasts blossoming magnolia branches, peonies, chrysanthemums, and fluttering butterflies. We absolutely adore the kaleidoscopic palette of pink, orange, coral, yellow, and periwinkle. The scene is painterly and fantastical, with layered color and fine detailing that draws the eye across the fabric and back again.
