Just like April and May, June is jam-packed with design events, both in the U.S. and abroad. This month includes major commercial interiors programming in Chicago, architecture conferences in San Diego and Barcelona, a Bay Area design festival, Art Basel in Switzerland, and a materials-focused fair in Copenhagen.

If you’re planning travel, looking for CEUs, sourcing new products, or trying to see what other parts of the design world are working on this year, these six events are worth a look.

June 2026 Design, Art, and Architecture Events

San Francisco Design Week

San Francisco Design Week

San Francisco Design Week returns for its 20th anniversary under the theme “Multitudes.” The 2026 calendar includes architecture, interiors, industrial design, furniture, digital design, branding, fashion, food, film, and public programming throughout the Bay Area. This year also falls within Design Bay Area’s larger Year of Design, a regional program running from January through December with exhibitions, installations, conversations, workshops, and public activations across the region.

The June calendar includes open studios, studio crawls, AI-focused design programming, home tours, furniture events, landscape and hospitality conversations, and a Case Study House #26 open house. Events already listed include Open Box with Zenpack on June 1st, Food as Infrastructure with Christian Douglas Design on June 3rd, Armadillo x Figwaspe on June 4th, and Studio Crawl nights on June 11th and 12th. Tickets are already on sale, and Design Bay Area has warned that popular events can sell out.

NeoCon returns to THE MART with the 2026 theme “Where Design Connects.” The main show runs June 8th through 10th, with a new Preview Day on Sunday, June 7th from noon to 4pm. Inside THE MART, the week includes CEUs, NeoCon Talks, Spotlight Sessions, workshops, Inside Design programming, student events, awards, product launches, showroom activations, and the NeoCon Podcast Lounge.

This year also includes Illuminate at NeoCon, a lighting-focused experience with product showcases, education, and immersive installations. NeoCon Collab: Half Light, curated by Charlie Green Design Studio, brings several brands into one designer-led space inspired by Chicago Henge. Chicago Design Week returns for its second edition during the same week, with IIDA programming around NeoCon and Fulton Market Design Days.

NeoCon welcomed nearly 50,000 attendees in 2025, so designers should plan showroom appointments and evening events early.

Unlimited returns with Ruba Katrib, Chief Curator and Director of Curatorial Affairs at MoMA PS1, curating the large-scale sector for the first time. This year’s Unlimited includes 59 major projects presented by 66 galleries. Parcours, curated by Stefanie Hessler, runs through historic sites and public spaces along Clarastrasse, while public commissions by Nairy Baghramian on Messeplatz and Ibrahim Mahama on Münsterplatz extend the fair into Basel itself.

The 2025 edition welcomed 88,000 visitors, so anyone attending this year should leave time for museum exhibitions, gallery events, dinners, and public programming beyond the main fair halls.
