Designers can easily find new products online throughout the year, and those digital resources certainly make sourcing quicker. Still, photographs and specification sheets can only communicate so much. A design fair like High Point Market, or in this case, València Design Fest, gives you the chance to examine materials up close and personal, compare proportions, test furniture, and ask manufacturers detailed questions before introducing a product to your client.

Valencia might be far for American designers, but if you’ll be in Europe this fall, we encourage you to explore their upcoming industry events. Feria Hábitat València runs from September 28 through October 1, while València Design Fest begins on September 11 and continues through October 15. Feria Valencia houses four major trade shows and several professional programs. Across the city, galleries, studios, cultural institutions, and architecture organizations will participate in a month of design events.

Interior designers who travel during the week of Feria Hábitat can experience both formats during one trip. Days can focus on furniture, lighting, textiles, kitchens, bathrooms, and materials at the exhibition center. Evenings and an additional day or two can be reserved for talks, exhibitions, studio visits, and Valencia itself.

What to Expect at Feria Hábitat València 2026

Four Major Trade Shows Share One Venue

Feria Hábitat València focuses on furniture, lighting, decoration, upholstery, and bedding. Textilhogar covers home textiles, upholstery fabrics, contract textiles, and decorative applications. Espacio Cocina SICI brings kitchen furniture, appliances, storage systems, and equipment into the program, while the new 360 by Cevisama area expands the fair into bathrooms, architectural surfaces, and construction materials.

Together, the four shows are expected to include more than 1,200 exhibiting firms and brands across over 110,000 square meters. You might compare a sofa frame, decorative lighting, performance textiles, bathroom fittings, and kitchen cabinetry without waiting for five separate markets.

The Nude Salon Introduces Emerging Design Talent

The nude Salon returns for its twenty-second edition as Feria Hábitat’s exhibition for emerging product designers. Participants present work across furniture, lighting, textiles, kitchens, bathrooms, and other categories related to residential and commercial interiors. A professional jury selects the participating projects, with members connected to the Spanish Ministry of Culture, the Universitat Politècnica de València, Clap Studio, Yonoh, and the nude program.

We always enjoy seeing emerging work beside established manufacturers. Prototypes typically address fabrication, material waste, repair, storage, and domestic habits with fewer commercial assumptions. Some pieces may still need development before they’re ready for client projects. Others may introduce a material or construction method that sends your research in a completely new direction.

Materials, Kitchens, Hospitality, and Architecture Receive Dedicated Programs

Matter will present a materials exhibition opposite the nude Salon in Pavilion 6. The exhibition examines wood, stone, clay, concrete, and metal through the subjects of origin, technology, and reuse. Visitors will be able to study physical samples and compare how familiar materials change through new fabrication methods, hybrid compositions, and circular systems.

Professional programs continue throughout the fair. AMC Kitchen Lab will address kitchen design, storage fittings, connected appliances, artificial intelligence, ergonomics, and consumer habits. Chef Martín Berasategui and former basketball player Fernando Romay are scheduled to discuss food, rest, and well-being in the home. Foro Hotel Hábitat will cover hospitality, contract interiors, project communication, craftsmanship, and sustainability.

Architecture and construction will also be a part of the event series through EXCO, which celebrates its fortieth anniversary in 2026. The program runs from September 28 through 30 and includes research from sixty universities across the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Oceania. Conference subjects include industrialized construction, building technology, energy performance, artificial intelligence, and lifecycle planning.

What to Expect at València Design Fest 2026

The Festival Extends Across Valencia for More Than a Month

València Design Fest runs from September 11 through October 15. The Design Foundation of the Region of Valencia organizes the festival as a celebration of regional creativity and the city’s UNESCO City of Design designation. Announced formats include exhibitions, conferences, panel discussions, workshops, screenings, presentations, and open-door routes.

The citywide format gives visitors another lens through which to view Valencian design. Manufacturers and finished products receive considerable attention at Feria Hábitat, while the festival introduces the studios, galleries, craftspeople, cultural organizations, and academic institutions that contribute to the region’s creative identity. You might encounter a furniture collection at the fair, then learn about the local materials or craft traditions behind it elsewhere in the city.

Poland Is the Guest Country for 2026

Poland will participate as the 2026 guest country, with new collaborations and a major exhibition planned for Galería Pasaje 94. The partnership will connect Polish and Valencian designers through a broader program of cultural exchange. Full details have not been published yet, so we’ll be watching for additional exhibitions, speakers, and participating studios.

Guest-country programs can provide a manageable route through a large festival. Rather than trying to attend every event across a month-long calendar, visitors can follow one exhibition, design community, or material conversation across several venues. That sort of focus also gives designers more time to look carefully instead of racing through a long checklist.

How to Plan a Trip to Feria Hábitat València and València Design Fest

Divide Your Time Between Feria Valencia and the City

Designers with limited time may want to reserve two or three days for Feria Valencia and another day for exhibitions within the city. The fair opens from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and closes at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Online preregistration is free for accredited professionals. Visitors who purchase admission at the venue will pay €10 for one day or €20 for all four days.

Feria Valencia is outside the historic center. Metro Line 2 stops at Les Carolines/Fira, approximately 600 meters from the exhibition center. Bus 62 also connects the venue with Estació Nord. Check the València Design Fest agenda before finalizing each day because city events may require separate registration or take place at several locations.

Where to Stay During Feria Hábitat València 2026

Stay Near Feria Valencia for a Fair-First Schedule

Port Feria Valencia is next to the exhibition center and makes sense for visitors who plan to spend most of the trip at Feria Hábitat. The hotel has on-site dining, private parking, a pool, a gym, and meeting rooms. The nearby Benimàmet metro station connects the area with central Valencia.

A hotel near the fair can simplify early mornings and long exhibition days, but evening events may require additional travel. Check the festival agenda before booking. A city-center hotel may be the better choice when your itinerary includes galleries, restaurants, studio visits, and talks after the fair closes.

Stay in Central Valencia for Easier Access to Festival Events

Only YOU Hotel Valencia is about 100 meters from Plaza del Ayuntamiento and approximately 500 meters from the Cathedral and La Lonja de la Seda. Its central location places visitors near restaurants, cultural sites, and several public transportation connections.

Palacio Santa Clara, part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, occupies a 1916 modernist building in the Ensanche district near Carrer de Colón. It may suit American travelers who prefer a familiar hotel group or use Marriott Bonvoy. 

Where to Eat During València Design Fest

Make Time for Tapas and Traditional Paella

Casa Montaña is a historic bodega in the Cabanyal-Canyamelar neighborhood. Founded in 1836, it specializes in tapas, wine, and spirits. The setting and wine list make it a good choice for a less formal evening after a full day at the fair.

Casa Carmela has prepared paella near Malvarrosa Beach since 1922. The restaurant cooks its paella over orange wood and serves each pan at the center of the table. Valencian and vegetable paellas require advance notice, so reserve ahead and confirm your order when booking.

Reserve One Dinner for Ricard Camarena

Ricard Camarena’s namesake restaurant has two stars in the 2026 Michelin Guide. It would suit visitors who want to schedule one formal tasting-menu experience during the trip. Reservations during Feria Hábitat week should be made well in advance.

Habitual, another restaurant from Camarena’s group, occupies the lower level of the modernist Mercado de Colón. Its central location may fit more easily between festival events, and the menu focuses on Mediterranean cooking and local produce. The interior also gives designers another reason to stop by; it’s stunning!
