How to Prepare for the Pasadena Home Show
Bring Information About Your Project
A basic project file will keep conversations focused and on target, even as you wade through a wide selection of booths, samples, and companies. Include room dimensions, photographs, inspiration images, a preliminary budget, and a list of work you expect to complete. You don’t need a finished plan before attending, but contractors will need more context than “we want to redo the kitchen” before they can discuss scheduling or scope.
Write your questions down before you enter Hall B. A short list will help you remember to ask about installation, maintenance, warranties, material samples, and next steps. Collect business cards from companies that fit the project, then add a note about each conversation on the backs.
Plan Your Transportation Before the Weekend
The Pasadena Convention Center is located at 300 East Green Street in the Civic Center District. Drivers can enter convention-center parking from Marengo Avenue or Euclid Avenue. Parking rates vary by event and garage, so confirm the rate before leaving home. The venue’s general attendee information lists a typical daily rate of $15, though event pricing may differ. Do not rely on street parking. There is very little around the Center, and the street parking you can find is usually permit-only for residents of Pasadena.
Instead of searching for parking, you can take the Metro A Line to either Del Mar or Memorial Park Station. Both stations are within walking distance of the convention center. Pasadena Transit Route 10 and Foothill Transit Line 187 stop near Colorado Boulevard and Garfield Avenue. Those options may be simpler than driving on Saturday, particularly if you’re staying in Old Pasadena or traveling from downtown Los Angeles.
Where to Stay Near the Pasadena Convention Center
Stay Within a Few Blocks of Hall B
Hilton Pasadena is approximately one-tenth of a mile from the convention center. The full-service hotel includes 296 guest rooms, an outdoor pool, a fitness center, an on-site restaurant, room service, and both self-parking and valet parking. Its location also places guests within walking distance of Old Pasadena and the Playhouse Village district.
Hotel Dena is approximately three-tenths of a mile from the convention center. The Marriott Tribute Portfolio property includes 311 guest rooms, two restaurant and bar concepts, a pool, a screening room, murals, and work by Los Angeles artists. It could suit visitors who want a hotel with a stronger creative direction while keeping the event, Old Pasadena, and evening dining nearby.
Consider Playhouse Village for a Slightly Longer Walk
AC Hotel Pasadena is approximately four-tenths of a mile from the convention center in Playhouse Village. The hotel includes 194 rooms, a European-inspired breakfast, an on-site lounge, and a rooftop restaurant and bar with views toward the San Gabriel Mountains. It also participates in Marriott Bonvoy, which may simplify booking for frequent travelers.
Each of these hotels is close enough that you could park once and walk between the event, restaurants, and central Pasadena. Compare overnight parking charges before booking, since those fees can change the total cost of a short trip.
Where to Eat Near the Pasadena Convention Center
Start the Day Close to the Event
Europane Bakery and Café is approximately two-tenths of a mile from the convention center. The French-inspired café serves breakfast and lunch, with pastries, sandwiches, soups, salads, macarons, coffee, and its well-known egg salad. It’s a convenient choice before the doors open at 10:00 a.m. or during a midday break from Hall B.
Agnes Restaurant and Cheesery is approximately four-tenths of a mile away on West Green Street. Chef-owners Vanessa and Thomas Tilaka Kalb built the menu around familiar family dishes, cheese, wine, cocktails, and takeout provisions from the cheesery. The restaurant also accommodates small private groups, which could work well for a design team attending the event together.
Reserve Dinner in Old Pasadena
Union is a 50-seat restaurant on East Union Street that serves a Californian interpretation of Northern Italian cooking. The restaurant focuses on dinner and has a substantial wine list. Union is also recognized as a Bib Gourmand selection in the 2026 Michelin Guide, so reservations would be smart during a busy Pasadena weekend.
Lunasia Signature is approximately eight-tenths of a mile from the convention center on Colorado Boulevard. Its Cantonese menu includes dim sum, seafood, and chef-led specialties. The distance may call for a short ride after a full day at the event, though the restaurant is still close to central Pasadena.
